Shadow box window

I have been creating some big or small (mostly small) artwork everyday, just dallying on recording it in my blog :)

Well this is what I did during the past two days.
I had painted this window in watercolor a few years ago. It had a background, but I never liked it. Last night, I cut out the background with an exacto knife!

Today, I darkened the shadows on the window and created a wet on wet watercolor background on a separate paper. Then I put it together in a box frame to give some dimension. The box frame I had was much larger than the window, so I gave it some tiny velvet curtains. My hubby did suggest curtains last night, but I wanted a watercolor background! This works for both of us!! Now I have to find a place for today's work.
